Hello all of my watchers,
As time goes on, I realize more and more how much everyone in the world needs money to live. There is a saying, Money does not buy happiness. In a lot of cases that is true, because all one needs to be happy is a roof over their head, a person to call their lover, and something of value to call their own. For all but one of those things, as it boils down, you really do need money to have happiness. Money buys us the things we need to be happy. In my case, it is the roof over my head that I need to be able to pay for. Living on your own really brings ideas to the mind that you can not buy everything you want, you have to pay for the things you need with the money you get. While I have known this lesson since before I moved in, I still seem to be short on money. All I spend my money on is gas for my car, my house, my utilities, groceries, and of course, the internet. In my job, I am making about $30-$40 a day, which is not enough at the end of the month. I have parents that love me very much, and they help us when we really need them, but they can not help us forever. My brother just lost his second job which was used to help pay the bills as well, so now we are even shorter on cash. Job hunting has been slow and I have not gotten any phone calls from the places I did apply at. As time goes on and it really all boils down to it, if any of you who read this can spare the money for a commission from me, or know someone who can, please find it in your heart to help a deviant in need.

UPDATE!

So it turns out my cousin will be staying with us.. My mom told me she would be more than happy to pay his share of the utility bill, but we still have to buy him food. I think it is unfair, but if there are any problems with him, my mom said she would give up her workout room. Oh well.. :/

I am writing this journal for no purpose other than to vent. Something has happened that made me truly angry and I just need to get it out there to see what everyone else thinks.

The Beginning

Some of my parents friends decided to move to our town from theirs about 8 hours away. Well, their house has not yet sold so they have no money to buy themselves a new house here. My mother said to them, being the nice person she is, "Oh you can live with us until you get a house of your own!" I do not live with my parents and I have my own house so I am totally fine with them moving here, they are fun people and their son is a good friend of mine as well.


The Conflict

I was having dinner with my mom and dad the other night and my mom said to me "I dont want to give up my workout room and if he moves in with me I will have to give it up! He can come live with you for a while!" While I dont live very far from my parents my mother seems to think that this plan is fool proof. And as well, my moms "workout room" Is compiled of a portable treadmill, and a few chairs and stands for sheet music as it is also a music room. First of all, she offered a room that my brother and I NEED to rent out in MY house. If we rent out this spare room, we get slightly lower bills each month, and with our low income and high bills we really need the extra money coming in. The real kicker for me is that my mom took total control of MY house when she has no part what so ever in the bills being paid and told someone they could stay here. The biggest problem now for us will be, he will be eating our food, using our internet, and using our heat during the cold winter months, and he will also probably make messes that I will have to clean up as well as my brothers messes that I already deal with. All because my mom wants to "lower her stress level" when, she should have to deal with it all because SHE offered her friends to stay at HER house. I discussed this issue with my dad before I told my mom I didn't want it. My dad told me "It is your house, ultimately it is your decision what happens." This is the smartest thing I have heard all day. My brother and I discussed it this morning as well, and he highly disagrees with this "generous" offer of my moms. When I was discussing it with my mom not short of an hour ago, she started to get mad with me and asked me to stop talking about it. The thing with my mom is, she is stubborn and when she thinks she is right, she has to be right and she can not be talked out of it. Not by me anyway. When I got back from driving her around, she went in the house and put away her groceries. I went out to the shop with my dad and I told him what mom said. He also disagrees and he said that we will have a family meeting later on about it. But again, this is MY house.. My brother and I pay the bills, and we can not afford to feed another mouth for free. My brother has been talking to a few of his friends and one of them might want to move in, I have a few friends that might be interested in moving in as well. I do not care who lives here, as long as they pay their share and clean up after themselves. As far as my moms friends son, well, I might as well be giving the room to a hobo off of 18th ave.

The Solution?

What do all of you think about this? My brother, my boyfriend and myself all think this to be HIGHLY unfair.
When I have that meeting with my family I will post the results of what will happen.. with luck there will be no outrage in my next journal on this subject..
